• Skye Batiks - Skye Batiks is the creation of Therssy and Gavin Major who thought it would be a good idea to combine the Sri Lankan Batik process to reproduce ancient Celtic Art. Batik is the artistic method of applying wax to cloth to resist dye. It's an ancient technique, which has its origins in Egypt (like a lot of things). The products we sell (with very few exceptions) are unique to our shop either being made by us or, designed by ourselves, our customers and made for us by others. We constantly develop our range and are always on the lookout for a new idea. Our staff both here in the UK and in Sri Lanka are as diverse and lively as the goods we provide. All of us have a story to tell, if only you'd stop shopping long enough to have a blether!
